Garth Brooks is known for the endless generosity and appreciation he shows to his fans. But at a recent concert in Greenville, N.C, Brooks went above and beyond.
JT Thompson proposed to his girlfriend, Shelby Arbitrage, during the show. And Garth Brooks had a very special surprise engagement gift ready to go for the memorable night.
After a Brooks staff member spotted the proposal in the audience, JT and Shelby were rushed to the front of the stage where Brooks serenaded the couple with "Make You Feel My Love," by Bob Dylan, who Garth called "the greatest songwriter on the planet."
Brooks famously covered "Make You Feel My Love" in 1998 for the Hope Floats soundtrack. The soundtrack also features a version of the song by Brooks' now-wife Trisha Yearwood.
Garth gave the couple another gift for their upcoming nuptials, and his present sure beats a toaster. After he finished singing, Brooks took off his guitar, signed it and handed it to the happy couple.
Last week, Brooks surprised another fan when he brought a cancer survivor and aspiring singer onstage for a duet in front of thousands.
You can catch Brooks on tour over the next few months, with stops set for Cincinnati and Honolulu. For a full list of his upcoming dates, click here.
