Garth Brooks, Blake Shelton to Duet on Party Song 'Dive Bar'

Garth Brooks has a potential crowd-pleaser for his fellow members of the "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association" on the way, and it features one of the 21st century stars he inspired, Blake Shelton.

"Blake and I are getting ready to release a duet in the summer," Brooks said during an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "He was fun. He came to the studio and just did a good old summertime anthem. It's called 'Dive Bar' and it just talks about spending your summers in the dive bars across America, and it's going to be fun."

The two Oklahoma natives worked together before when Brooks appeared as a coach on The Voice in 2016. This time around, they blend their similar drawls for a potential poolside hit. "Sometimes I didn't know if it was me or him, because we're basically raised around the same area, so it was pretty cool," Brooks adds.

"Dive Bar" should hit country radio later this month, and it will debut live when its singers share the stage on July 19 at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Id. as part of Brooks' ongoing stadium tour. In the meantime, Brooks is brainstorming a music video—his first since 2008's "Midnight Sun"—for the star-studded duet. "I don't know when the last time we did a country music video was, but you don't want to pass this opportunity up," Brooks says.

The song will appear on Brooks' forthcoming album FUN. The debut singles for Brooks' 14th studio album, "All Day Long" and "Stronger Than Me," were released in 2018.

For Shelton, it should be the next standout track amid a string of singles, including recent hit "God's Country," from a singer teasing a move away from the album format to focus on digital-only releases.
