On Monday night, American Idol contestant Gabby Barrett commanded attention as she delivered a fun and incredibly energetic performance of Miranda Lambert's 2015 hit "Little Red Wagon," which was a cover of Audra Mae's track from 2012.
At the begging of the show, the Top 14 contestants were told who would make it to the Top 10 and all of the singers had to perform after the decision was announced. Barrett found out she was safely in the Top 10 thanks to her previous performance of "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus. When she sang the ballad she was equally fearless but much more subdued than during her "Little Red Wagon" cover.
Fueled by the excitement of getting into the Top 10 and gaining multitudes of fans, Barrett bounced all over the stage and somehow managed to kick and swing her hair while staying in tune and on beat throughout the song.
The 18-year-old impressed judge Katy Perry who asked her what she had for dinner that night to have so much energy. At such a young age, Barrett manages to be poised, fun and bold. She seems to have no nerves holding her back from sharing her talent with the live audience and the millions of people watching at home.
