The Full House star was diagnosed with cancer, a stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, back in November last year. Since then he's been on chemotherapy and other treatments and has since lost his hair.
In the latest episode of his Full House Rewind podcast, the actor spoke up about his treatment, and how he's doing.
"I'm feeling good," he says, which is always a good sign. "My hair has not grown back at this time," he continued.
"I realize how much that hair keeps you warm," he told his co-host, Marla Sokoloff. "If I don't wear a Chapo, it gets a little cold here in Michigan where I'm at."
Sokoloff does joke about this, saying, "Well that'll come in handy during the summer, I guess, it's like a little air conditioning on your head."
"True, but then you gotta make sure you put a bit of Sunblock on," he countered. Despite the joking, he does admit that it would "be nice to have hair again."
After the jesting about the actor's hair loss, he jumps into talking about his treatment has been affecting him.
Dave Coulier Says That Treatment Has Been A Roller Coaster
"It's been kind of a roller coaster ride," Dave Coulier said. "The side effects have side effects, and then you take a drug to counteract that, and this and that," he explained.
"So it's this Con cocktail where your body is in fight or flight mode and you're just trying to adjust," he continued.
He then described how it's a "bit of an internal battle" having to take so much treatment.
Coulier remains positive, however, especially when describing how his words of encouragement toward getting checked for cancer have helped many others out there. Sokoloff admits that she finally went to a mammogram that she was 6 months overdue for after speaking to Coulier.
"That to me is worth the Journey of all this," he admitted. "If I have to feel a little out of sorts for a few months, then so be it. Just being able to, you know, alert people that it's okay to get a coloscopy or early screenings or, you know, a mammogram is really worth it."
