According to a Shelby County Sheriff's Office

release, a warrant for Devon Bart's arrest had been issued following a domestic-related assault. As reported by Fox 13, court documents allege that Bart came to his ex-girlfriend's workplace and proceeded to curse at her repeatedly. The documents alleged further that Bart took his ex-girlfriend's wallet, threw her debit card down a gutter, and even got hold of her rental car keys.

According to the sheriff's office, Bart, before his arrest, had been posting pictures on TikTok, challenging Shelby County deputies to find and arrest him. As per the press release, Bart claimed that "if he was going to jail, the authorities would have to find him first."

And the authorities found him indeed. Devon Bart was taken into custody without incident, as per the Shelby County Sheriff's Office release. He was charged with assault.

"We take all warrants and the law very seriously at the Sheriff's Office," Chief Deputy Anthony Buckner said. "Evading Deputies is not a game — ignoring the law has serious consequences."

The investigation into the domestic-related assault is ongoing, as per the sheriff's office.

Reactions And Similar Taunt

Many users online reacted to the news of Bart's arrest, mocking his reported taunts to police. "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Silly Boy," one user wrote. "Stupid is as Stupid does," a second user commented, quoting Forrest Gump. A third user asked the sheriff's office, "Can I work in the social media department of the sheriff's office?"

Across the pond, a 22-year-old woman reportedly attempted to taunt the police in a similar fashion. According to The Telegraph, Greater Manchester Police posted an appeal on social media, asking the community to help locate the 22-year-old. Allegedly, the woman failed to attend court while facing multiple other charges.

In the very same appeal posted on social media, the suspect commented, "Hey guys," taunting police. While many reacted with laughing emojis, police managed to trace her down to a property in Fallowfield. They found the woman hiding under a pile of children's toys.
