The home of the Big Mac is getting some grief online. Customers aren't loving that the fast-food restaurant chain is seemingly shrinking its drink sizes. Some are so upset that they've taken to Reddit to complain.
Is McDonald's Shrinking Its Drinks?
Over the last few years, we've all become familiar with the term "shrinkflation." That's when companies offer less product for the same price, or, in some cases, more.
According to one Reddit user, McDonald's has become part of this trend. In a picture shared online in the r/McDonalds subreddit, they snapped a picture of a small drink from the restaurant next to a small blue plastic cup to show that customers are getting less soda than ever before.
"They weren't kidding when they said, 'small'. WTF is this," they wrote. "This is seriously action figure-sized. A few f—ing sips & it was gone. I compared it to the size of a plastic cup from my pantry. To top it off — it was $1.91 for this sewing thimble. Bring back '$1 ANY SIZE SOFT DRINKS!!!"
Others Agreed That the Restaurant Is Giving Less for More
Other users responded in agreement, with another user saying, "literally, enjoy every SIP."
Someone else added, "For 25 cents less you can get a super small."
Another user joked, "They literally sold you a water cup. That is what they would give us here in California if we wanted a 'free' drink."
One customer said they should order their next drink without ice. "You get more & its cold out of the machine," they wrote.
But one user believed the original poster's eyes were deceiving them.
"Don't worry some guy on another post assured me all products are the same size as they've always been," they wrote. "Never mind if you are older than 10 years old and you can actually remember the sizes. it's always been this way. you are mistaken for sure."
