Personal trainer Elena Katherine Moore mysteriously vanished from a Planet Fitness gym in Lexington, South Carolina, on Thursday, June 11. The last known sighting of her was at a Publix parking lot that night. Authorities have been exhaustively searching for Moore since then. On Wednesday, June 17, a body was located clad in garments that matched what Moore was last seen wearing. A positive identification has not been announced yet.

Adding to the mystery of Moore's disappearance is what a friend of hers is now saying about her state of mind around that time. Sondra Campbell has shared with Fox News Digital that Moore, 39, was "very different" the final time they saw each other on Sunday, May 31.
"She Was Scared for Her Life"
Campbell reportedly told the outlet that Moore seemed oddly frightened. "She was scared for her life. She actually said those words to me. Elena is one of my best friends. I've known her over probably 10 years now. We're really close like tell each other everything. She's been that person for me for a long time."
Campbell said she tried to draw Elena Katherine Moore out about what was troubling her. She was skittish and evasive, though. Campbell reportedly said Moore told her, "'I can't talk to you right now. There's too many people around.' She's like, 'But we've got to talk one-on-one.'"
Sondra Campbell Is Very Concerned
According to the outlet, Moore called Sondra Campbell on Thursday, June 4. Campbell missed that call. She texted and called back but got no answer. Moore reportedly vanished a week after. With so much time passing and no word from Moore, plus the grim discovery of the body, Campbell is now very worried.
"Elena was such a good person and I think we're just all just trying to wrap our head around this, but my friend would not be alone walking at nighttime. She just wouldn't be, it's not her."
Another friend of Elena Katherine Moore's is also fretting. Lauren Beasley said that Moore's social media went dark for a month, which was strange. "She is very active on social media so her going radio silent for the last month is out of character."
