Maria Bartiromo, a longtime anchor who has been prominent on Fox News and Fox Business Network, is suddenly gone. The reason for her abrupt departure is unclear. A spokesperson for Fox News Media issued a terse statement. It only said, "We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 1/2 years and wish her all the best on her next chapter."

She has evidently not yet commented publicly about her unexpected leave-taking from the network she has called home since 2014.
Variety stated that she has been absent from her role since Sunday, August 9. On her last Mornings With Maria broadcast on Thursday, September 3, there was no goodbye from Bartiromo.
Bartiromo formerly had a high-profile role at CNBC. Per NPR, "At Fox Business and the Fox News Channel, she hosted 'Mornings with Maria' and other shows bearing her name." Those programs will now reportedly have new titles and hosts.
Bartiromo Apparently Was Pro-Trump
Like some of her colleagues at Fox News, per NPR, Maria Bartiromo is apparently pro-President Donald Trump. She has allegedly been a proponent of "theories of conspiracy fraud" regarding the 2020 presidential election. Joe Biden edged out Donald Trump six years ago to win the White House. Some still dispute those results.
According to NPR, Bartiromo's remarks about that subject (and comments by some of her on-air guests) reportedly figured into a costly defamation case. It was brought by Dominion Voting Systems against Fox. The matter was settled prior to trial. Fox allegedly shelled out $787 million to Dominion. It was a $1.6 billion lawsuit, states Variety.
Another legal issue facing Fox that Bartiromo allegedly "features heavily" in is also connected with the 2020 election coverage. It's reportedly another defamation suit, per NPR, against her former employer. It's also tied to a voting software company called Smartmatic.
Bartiromo Has a Distinguished Background
A Brooklyn native and a graduate of New York University, Maria Bartiromo, 58, has earned prestigious recognition for her journalistic work. Per her web site she has been honored with two Emmys. The Financial Times included her as "One of 50 Faces That Shaped the Decade" in 2009.
