A former Access Hollywood host just landed a plum gig at Fox News, a decade after he was unceremoniously booted from Today.

Billy Bush, who was dismissed from his third-hour hosting job on Today (after years spent hosting Access Hollywood) back in 2016, following a controversial exchange that was leaked between him and reality TV personality turned president Donald Trump, will debut on Fox News tonight (Sept. 22).
According to Deadline, the 54-year-old former Today host will "offer cultural analysis" on Fox News programming, kicking off with an appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime this evening.
Bush enjoyed a prolific career in entertainment news, appearing on Access Hollywood from 2001 to 2016 before joining Today.
Billy Bush's Time with 'Today' Was Short-Lived
However, his time at Today was short-lived. Portions of a 2005 interview between Bush and Donald Trump in which the TV host nervously laughed at Trump's vulgar comments about women resurfaced during the 2016 presidential campaign. The now-infamous footage led to Bush being ousted by Today.
That said, Bush managed to rebound from the scandal. He went on to host the entertainment news show Extra from 2019 to 2025. Bush also hosts the digital show Hot Mics with Billy Bush. He's expected to maintain it alongside his Fox News gig.
"I'm excited to join FOX News Media and its loyal audience to share my perspective on the people, ideas and moments shaping today's culture... as well as the ones trying to undo it," Bush gushed in a statement about the new gig.
Meanwhile, Bush seems like a perfect fit for the traditionally conservative news network for reasons outside of his impressive resume. He's the nephew of the late President George H.W. Bush (making him a cousin of former President George W. Bush and former Florida Governor Jeb Bush).
