Former Nickelodeon Star Dies at 46

Christy Knowings, a cast member on Nickelodeon's hit series All That, died Tuesday, August 11, after being removed from life support. She was 46.

Knowings' aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced the death Wednesday on Facebook, but a cause was not disclosed.

Fellow All That alum Kenan Thompson, 48, wrote on Instagram reacting to the news: "Man this one hit hard!!! Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!!"

Christy Knowings Was a Former Nickelodeon Star

Knowings, a New York native, starred in over 30 episodes of Nickelodeon's All That, starting in 1997. She made her final appearance on the sketch comedy show in 1999.

Following All That, Knowings appeared in several episodes of Sesame Street from 2008-11 alongside her twin brother Chris Knowings, who was a more frequent actor on the series. She also appeared in Spike Lee's 1994 film Crooklyn.

In her Facebook post, Knowings' aunt wrote, "My brother Charles' daughter Chrissy (Christy Knowings) has passed. She was an outstanding actress, comedian, twin sister, an amazing daughter. Rest in power, Chrissy."

Knowings is the second All That alum to pass away this year. Kianna Underwood was killed in a hit-and-run incident at age 33 in New York City.

All That ran for 10 seasons from its 1994 premiere to its 2005 conclusion. Notable cast members included Amanda Bynes, Kel Mitchell and Nick Cannon.

The show's success led to spin-off series Kenan & KelThe Amanda Show and The Nick Cannon Show.
