Greg Hardy tasted defeat for the fourth straight time on May 30. The NFL star-turned-MMA pro fell short against Darko Stosic at Fight Nation Championship 31. To make matters worse for Greg, he reportedly came into the bout 25 pounds overweight.

However, the former tight end failed to make his weight advantage pay. He was picked apart by Stosic. Yet, it wasn't until the third round that Greg absorbed a monster blow, courtesy of a left hook, that sent him stumbling backward.

Stosic followed up the gnarly hook with a quick leg kick in order to keep his range. However, it was a meaty overhand right that wrapped things up, connecting beautifully to send the former NFL talent crashing to the mat.

Of course, the match was ruled as being over, and Stosic earned a well-deserved win.

"It was Hardy's fourth MMA loss in his last five bouts. Each of those losses came via technical knockout or knockout. He lost his last two fights in UFC in the first round - one on July 10, 2021, against Tai Tuivasa and the other to Serghei Spivac on March 5, 2022," Fox News reports.

With that win, Stosic took his record to 23-8, with 17 victories by knockout.

Greg Hardy Spent Six Years in the NFL

Before following his dream to become a professional MMA fighter, Greg spent six years in the NFL, five of which came with the Carolina Panthers. He suited up for 75 regular-season games during his tenure in the league, starting 52 of them.

Greg entered the league with the 175th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, having spent four seasons at Ole Miss. Greg's best professional season came in 2013. He was selected to a Pro Bowl team along with making an All-Pro second team during the same season.

Interestingly, Greg only made one postseason appearance during his time in the league. Now, he's trying to navigate the brutal MMA industry and clearly needs to work on his game and boxing defense.

Currently, there have been no reports as to whether Greg suffered an injury. Hopefully, he will be fine and will be back in the cage in the near future.
