A former crime show host has been sentenced to death amid a bombshell drug trafficking case. As reported by the New York Post, Sarah Khalifa was one of eleven found guilty and subsequently sentenced to death in the ordeal.
The 39 year old was the host of Egyptian crime show "Mission Impossible", which talked about "crime issues", according to the BBC. She also ran a cosmetic surgery clinic as well as an event planning company, as well as being popular on social media, with over 3 million followers.
Khalifa was seen sobbing as the death sentence was read out in court. She pleaded with the judge, saying, "Please listen to me, sir. My parents raised me well, they are people who pray, and I don't need drug money."
The former crime show host and 11 others were convicted of "operating an organized gang that imported raw materials to make drugs". Over 1,600 lbs. of drugs were seized by authorities. Judges also convicted them on charges of gun trafficking.
She was originally arrested in 2025. There, she said to officials that she not only had never seen any drugs, but had even "never smoked a cigarette" in her life.

The comments of her latest post have been filled with condolences, with many people writing "RIP". Some commenters were also critical of her, with one writing, "Do your research before you do something like that."
Khalifa's lawyer has confirmed that she will be appealing the death sentence. We hope that justice can take its course in this case.
