Levi Wyatt has sadly passed away at the age of 23. The former Jackson State college football player passed away following a car crash in Mississippi. According to PEOPLE, local authorities attended to reports of a crash on Saturday, August 1, around 12:14 am local time.

The crash involved two cars. One of those vehicles was a Chevrolet Camaro, which had struck a nearby utility pole. The driver of the Camaro was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital with "life-threatening injuries," per PEOPLE. However, the driver of the second vehicle was unharmed.
Wyatt was later announced as the driver of the Camaro, via multiple local news outlets.
Following the news of Wyatt's death, the Jackson State football program paid tribute to their former player via a post on X.
"The bond of this brotherhood does not end when the game clock expires," the post began. "Today, we mourn the loss of our brother, Levi Wyatt. His memory will forever live within the halls of Jackson State Football and in the hearts of everyone who shared this journey with him," the team continued. "We ask the Tiger Nation to join us in lifting his family and loved ones in prayer during this incredibly difficult time. Rest easy, Tiger."
Levi Wyatt Spent One Season With Jackson State
According to Sports Illustrated, Levi Wyatt spent one season with Jackson State. He suited up for the program in 2025. During his short tenure, Wyatt helped the team secure the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Division championship.
"Wyatt was used on defense and special teams in his lone season at Jackson State in 2025, helping the Tigers to the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Division championship," Sports Illustrated reported. "He finished the season playing in all 12 games, recording 12 tackles, including nine solo. He also recorded four pass breakups."
Before signing with Jackson State, Wyatt spent time playing for McNeese State. During his tenure there, he was named to the second-team All-Southland Conference honors in 2024.
