26-year-old Bryn Waite, a former college athlete, has been found dead on a San Diego beach. As reported by the New York Post, her body was found on La Jolla Shores on Wednesday, July 22.
She was found floating in the waters of the beach and was pronounced dead at the scene. A bystander had spotted her before calling emergency services.
At the time the body was found, the San Diego Fire Rescue Department and the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office explained that they needed to complete "an initial assessment" before any details could be released, per Yahoo!News.
Her cause of death has not been established at this time.
Waite, of Anchorage, Alaska, had played women's soccer at Central Washington University in a two-season stint. She had scored two goals over a period of at least 15 games.
The former college athlete had posted on social media just three days before her passing. A picture showed her driving late at night, with her captioning it, "It only gets better".
