Dylan Sprouse was introduced to Hollywood from a young age. In fact, his first on-screen appearance came within the first year of his life. Having been born in August, 1992, Sprouse was given the role of Patrick Kelly on Grace Under Fire in 1993. He appeared in 112 episodes of the show.

By the time Sprouse was seven or eight, he appeared to hold the lead supporting role in Adam Sandler's smash-hit Big Daddy, where he played Julian McGrath. So, when it comes to the inner workings of Hollywood, few are more well-versed than Sprouse.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like the childhood star is a fan of all that comes with life in the acting world. During a recent appearance on the September 1 episode of the 'Wildmen' podcast, Sprouse shared his belief that acting roles for children amount to child labor.
"It's child labor," Sprouse said. "When you work a career at that age, some kids used to work in coal mines and guard the minecart door when they were 15; we just sang and danced. It's still child labor."
As the interview continued, Sprouse noted that being a child actor is aking to working a full-time office job.
"It's a full office job," he continued. "I've described this to people a lot before. When you're working on television, it's a day job. You go in, you clock in, you clock out, you have a cubicle, you work obviously, it's, you know, you're on a stage and it's different, but it's the same hours."
Dylan Sprouse Is Still Acting
Despite his disillusionment with being a childhood star, Sprouse has continued acting. In 2025, he appeared in Neglected and Under Fire. In 2024, he appeared in the highly rated Behind The Lines, where he played Mort Elevitch.
Throughout his young career, Sprouse has accumulated 58 acting credits. That number will likely continue to rise as he adds experience and takes on new, potentially bigger roles. Nevertheless, Sprouse is speaking out on an issue within Hollywood that is clearly close to him.
Unfortunately, it's hard to envision his stance changing anything.
