However, Jones would repeatedly re-enter the restaurant. He would then order food at the register and have the meal's value refunded to his personal credit card.
"Detectives reviewing surveillance footage identified the suspect as Keyshun Jones, a former employee who had been terminated about a month earlier," Fox 4 reported. "Police said the footage shows Jones behind the counter without authorization, where he allegedly used the restaurant's register to ring up roughly 800 orders of macaroni and cheese trays and then issue refunds to his personal credit cards."
It's believed that Jones ultimately ran his scheme over 800 orders of mac & cheese. He was arrested on April 17.
"Jones faces charges of property theft, money laundering and evading arrest," The New York Post reports. "He faces up to 10 years in state prison, if convicted — where he'll also be able to order mac & cheese, according to the menus on the Texas Department of Criminal Justice."
The Former Chick-Fil-A Employee Evaded Arrest on Multiple Occasions
Jones' arrest warrant was reportedly issued on April 6. However, according to Fox 4, he managed to evade arrest on multiple occasions.
"Police said Jones evaded arrest despite multiple attempts to locate him. He was taken into custody April 17, 2026, with assistance from the Texas Attorney General's Fugitive Task Force and the Fort Worth Police Department."
Having been caught on camera executing his scheme, Jones will face an uphill battle in court. Running his alleged scheme for over 800 orders will undoubtedly leave him in a difficult situation.
Currently, there's no further information regarding Jones or the charges against him. Neither he nor Chick-fil-A has released a statement regarding the situation.
Nevertheless, more information will come to light as the situation continues to unfold. Until then, Chick-Fil-A might consider taking its mac & cheese off the menu, clearly it's too good to pass up.
