2018 Ford F-Series Super Duty Limited

Ford’s New Pickup Costs Nearly $96K

Everything is bigger in Texas, as they say, so Ford took an opportunity in the Lone Star State to announce their new super duty with the biggest price tag yet.

At the State Fair of Texas Ford debuted the 2018 F-Series Super Duty Limited pickup truck, and if you get it fully loaded, it'll take a big bite out of your bank account — to the tune of nearly $96K.

The truck has the highest capacity of any previously released by Ford, and comes standard at $82,130 (for an F250) with a 6.7-liter V8 diesel engine, a 360-degree camera system, adaptive cruise control with lane keep assist, and a panoramic moonroof. The truck also comes with Camelback leather upholstery on the seats that feature venting, heating and even massage capabilities.

If you get the largest truck in the series, the F450, with all the upgrade options it rings in at $95,750.

Pickup trucks have long been the tools of the trade for farmers and the blue collar working class of the heartland, but in recent years they've been edging up to astronomical prices only affordable by the wealthy. Ford's new Super Duty is just the latest example.

For comparison, if you've got $96K to spend on a vehicle you could purchase:

  • A Porche 911
  • A maxed-out Corvette Z06
  • A fully-loaded BMW M4

But good luck pulling a trailer with any of those.
