Football Star Stabbed In Heart At Track Meet, Left To Die In Twin's Arms

What is this world coming to? A teen had to watch his twin brother bleed out in his arms while attending a track meet for his high school. Buckle up folks, because this isn't about to be one of my funnier posts.

Twin Stabbed at Track Meet

On April 2nd of this year, Austin Metcalf was stabbed to death by a fellow teenager. Austin and his brother were at a track meet in Texas, and apparently got into a fight over seating arrangements.

(Author's side note: Really? We're stabbing people over miscommunications in seating now?)

Another 17-year-old by the name of Karmelo Anthony was the alleged murderer in question. According to a report by NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin asked Anthony to move because Anthony was in his seat. Anthony then allegedly produced a knife and stabbed Austin in his heart.

Hunter, Austin's twin brother, could only watch as his brother bled out in his arms. In an interview with WFAA Hunter said, "I looked at my brother and I'm not going to talk about the rest. I tried to help him."

I can't even begin to understand the emotions Hunter must be going through right now. The trauma that watching your brother get stabbed must cause. My heart goes out to the Metcalf family. (Weird amount of famous sports players with identical names in this one.

The Fallout

Anthony (unsurprisingly) was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. I still can't understand how an altercation over seating becomes so personal that a knife needs to be brought out. I don't think I'd stab anyone over kidnapping my dog, much less telling me I'm in the wrong seat.

Austin will no longer get to achieve his dream of playing college football. He was a 4.0 GPA student. His father, Jeff, states, "He was a bright young man with a great future ahead of him,". I think I speak for everyone reading this when I say we feel for the family. This country needs some healing fast.
