Dropping a text to the wrong number is always awkward, but texting a cop instead of a drug dealer is just plain stupid.

If you're going to have drug dealers and police numbers in your contacts, try to keep them separate. Taking drugs can often make you pretty stupid, and mistakes can be made. But, this woman's drug of choice was fentanyl, which makes you especially thick.
While trying to pick up a score of the drug, she accidentally got the name of her drug dealer and a police investigator muddled up. She dropped a quick pick-up line to PJ in her phone, but the text went through to Stephen Pettijohn, an investigator instead.
The drug-addled woman went right ahead with the deal, too. She didn't actually realize that she was arranging a pick-up from the investigator. He went along with it, arranging to meet her at a local store for the fentanyl pickup.
Walking herself into her own trap, she went to meet him, hoping to get a little high. Little did she know, there wouldn't be a drug dealer to meet her.
Police Investigator Turned Drug Dealer Makes A Clean Arrest
Imagine 41-year-old Octavia Wells's surprise when she went to grab her drugs and instead was met with the police investigator. He promptly slapped handcuffs on her and whisked her off. She didn't even get any drugs out of the whole situation. What a disaster.
She has now been charged with unlawful use of a communication device, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license. Obviously, she wasn't charged with possession of drugs, she never managed to pick any up in the first place.
Apparently, she had the number of the police investigator in her phone due to previous interactions with him. The nature of these interactions hasn't been released.
Texting a police investigator rather than a drug dealer must be one of the worst possible mix-ups a person can make. Mistaken identities hardly come more detrimental than that. Especially seeing as she didn't even realize until after she had turned up for the pickup.
A truly foolish mistake, but not one she's likely to make again.
