In a bizarre event, Jaythan Lawrence Glider, a 32-year-old man, after allegedly stealing hundreds of thousands worth of Tiffany & Co. jewelry, decided to swallow earrings that amounted to more than $769,000. Reportedly, he would admit to it to the police after being arrested.

According to WFLA, a police report claims that Glider managed to access the pricey jewelry on February 26. The report elaborated that Glider pretended to be a representative for an Orlando Magic player to be allowed access to the highly-priced goodies.
After allegedly grabbing the jewelry, Glider would then forcibly make his way out of the store. In the process, he allegedly injured one employee inside the exclusive private room, as per WESH. WFLA states that Glider allegedly took two sets of earrings and a ring. One of the sets of earrings was a 4.86-carat diamond set, worth $160,000. The other was a set of 8.19-carat diamond earrings, worth $609,500. The ring was worth a staggering $587,000.
Reportedly, Glider would flee in his vehicle only to be stopped by police on Interstate 10 in Washington County and was charged with resisting arrest. The stolen ring was recovered, according to WFLA, but the earrings were nowhere to be found, leading to a theft charge.
Swallowing Earrings
While he was in jail, Glider asked an unexpected question, which led to the missing earrings. "Am I going to be charged with what's in my stomach?" Glider said, according to The Express Tribune. Flabbergasted by his question, the detectives performed a body scan. Shockingly, they discovered the two pairs of earrings inside Glider's digestive tract. He had swallowed the earrings before his arrest. Moreover, a trooper claimed to have heard Glider say, "I should have thrown them out the window."
The Washington County Sheriff's Office will now have to wait for both the earrings to come out of Glider's body before collecting them. "These foreign objects are suspected to be the Tiffany & Co. earrings taken in the robbery but will need to be collected by WCSO after they are passed through Gilder's system prior to confirming," reads the arrest report.
In connection with his alleged robbery, Jaythan Lawrence Glider was charged with first-degree grand theft and robbery with a mask. Police revealed that Glider was also charged with theft after he robbed a Tiffany & Co. Texas store back in 2022.
