Florida Man Allegedly Stole $4K Worth of Steaks, Then Tossed Them After Catching Girlfriend Cooking With Another Man

Stories like this make me wish that Jerry Springer and his daytime TV show were still around. Authorities have arrested a Florida man for allegedly stealing $4,000 worth of steaks, roasts, and lamb. But that's just the beginning of the story.

Allegedly, the man then tossed out the stolen steaks and meat. Why? Well, apparently he caught his girlfriend cooking with another man. In the culinary and also dating world, this is a cardinal sin. So, no more stolen steaks for anyone.

Allegedly, the man, who is a Cuban national, stole the meat from Florida grocery stores. Flagler County Sherriff's Office arrested 30-year-old Heannys O. Alvarez Reyna after catching him on security cameras. Alelgedly, Reyna walked out of a local Publix with $1,574.86 in premium beef and lamb.

Stolen Steaks Thrown Out

Not content with the bolden shoplift, deputies claim Reyna then went to a different publix and walked out with $2,084 of stolen steak, tenderloin, pork and also some personal care products. Because you should take care of yourself.

Detectives eventually tracked down the Florida man. That's when things get very interesting. Reyna said after stealing the meat, he drove to his girlfriend's house. He then caught her in the kitchen with another man. So angered by the fact she cooked dinner with another man, Reyna allegedly threw out all of the stolen meat.

"This wasn't just a case of someone trying to 'meat' their budget. This was a calculated, 'high-steaks operation' that left two stores with significant losses," said Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly. "While this suspect's selection was choice, his method wasn't kosher. He really tried to milk the system and by now he's found out that the Green Roof Inn does not serve premium meats."

"His relationship may have been past its prime, but stealing isn't the way to cure what ails you. The bottom line is this: If you steal from our stores, we will catch you and you will 'meat' the consequences," Sheriff Staly added.

Authorities are holding him in the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility. They've charged him with a $5,000 bond.
