Florida, you never cease to amaze me with the crazy news that happens in your state.
In today's Floridian news of the weird, a gigantic Florida gator took a casual stroll around the links at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto Springs.
When golfer Charles Helms, of Sarasota, first spotted the gator, he thought it was a practical joke because it was so big.
"I didn't know if we were being punked or something," he told ABC Action News. "It was just laying down, resting, when it got up and started moving towards the big lake."
Estimates put the dinosaur-like creature around 15 feet.
Alligators are common in Florida, and they have been making a splash in the news recently. On Monday, police in South Florida found alligators eating the remains of a dead body.
So, a word to the wise, watch your back when you play golf in South Florida, and you should probably think twice about jumping in a lake or river while you're there.
