A Florida cop has been suspended after ignoring a driver in need. It wasn't a simple traffic need either. Instead, this motorist was attacked by a swarm of bicyclists. To add insult to injury, the attack happened right in front of this officer's police car.

Florida Cop Suspended When She Ignored Driver In Need Of Assistance

Then, there are other times where you blatantly ignore what is right in front of you. In this case, it was the later. A female Miami police officer has been suspended after she completely ignored a driver in need.
That poor driver was surrounded and beaten by a mob of cyclists in broad daylight. Not only did this attack happen in the daylight, but it happened directly in front of the unhelpful officer's car. The Daily Mail shares how security footage between "the Adrienne Arscht Center and James L. Knight Concert Hall" captured the brutal beating.
The footage showed the driver, a man in a black sedan, pull up in front of the patrol car and proceed to have words with a cyclist. Apparently the words that were shared were unkind, because moments later more bikers began to surround the man and his vehicle.
Unfortunately for the driver, he didn't make it back inside of his car. Instead, the bikers got ahold of him and were seen repeatedly kicking and stomping on him. All of this occurred while the female officer watched on.
Finally Back Up Arrives
Not only did this Florida cop watch on, completely ignoring the driver in need, but she also witnessed the destruction the cyclists caused to his vehicle. Once they grew tired of kicking and stomping on him, one of the bikers "jumped on the man's car and broke his windshield." Other cyclists threw rocks at his vehicle as well.
To make matters even worse, the bikers then took the poor motorist directly in front of the police car. Then, they proceeded to beat him right in front of the female officer. One cyclist was even so brazen that they threw a bike on top of the driver.
While this woman did nothing to protect and serve, other officers eventually arrived to the scene. Once other officers arrived, the woman finally left the safety of her police cruiser. Some of the new cops on the scene tackled some of the cyclists before they attempted to flee the scene.
Although the second set of officers did rescue the motorist from the onslaught, the extent of his injuries have not been revealed. Additionally, an internal investigation is underway to look into why the female officer clearly ignored the driver in need.

While many are in favor of this Florida Cop being suspended others are defending her. Many point out that she was riding solo, and that it was safer for her to wait for backup before intervening. However others say she could have turned on her sirens, or done a bit more than just sit there and watch, without putting herself at risk.
