The incident went down at Florida's Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Nov. 3, per local outlet WPLG. The outlet reports that 48-year-old Lawrence Kai Raben was waiting at gate E6 of the airport, sitting across from a family of three.
According to the Broward County Sheriff's Office, the plane passenger then unbuttoned his pants, exposed himself, and began to urinate. The mother and her 7-year-old son were reportedly caught in the splash as he "began urinating in their direction."
Perhaps the mother and her young son were in shock, as reports indicate most other airport travelers vacated the gate area as soon as he allegedly began urinating.
"Several other passengers were present in the immediate area at the time of the incident," BSO Deputy James Powell explained in paperwork obtained by WPLG. "As Raben exposed himself and began urinating, the surrounding passengers dispersed from the area."
The suspect was eventually charged with "disorderly intoxication.'
This sounds like a few drinks to combat flight jitters may have gotten out of control...
Meanwhile, it remains unclear whether Raben had an issue with the mother and her son. It's also unclear whether he was even traveling to their destination. He may even have just returned from a flight and been lingering.

The Fort Lauderdale resident was eventually detained by authorities. The 48-year-old was reportedly charged with battery causing a person under 18 to have contact with bodily fluids, battery, and disorderly intoxication. He was also reportedly charged with three counts of indecent exposure.
Raben is a divorced father of two young boys and a project manager at a kitchen remodeling firm, according to his Facebook profile, via The Smoking Gun. In 2011, he reportedly pleaded no contest to domestic battery. He was later reportedly sentenced to probation and was ordered to complete a batterer's intervention program.
Records show Raben remains at the Broward County Jail as of Nov. 5. He's being held on a $5,000 total bond.
