A Turkish Airline flight repeatedly struggled to stick to the landing as the aircraft was beaten by severe weather and turbulence.

One passenger recalled that the plane "started to plummet" after failing to land on three different attempts.
The flight departed from Istanbul and was approaching the airport when it got swept in a violent storm.
Passenger Marina Maiskaya shared video footage of the traumatic incident that shows terrified passengers clinging to their seats as screams rang out throughout the cabinet.
"The flight itself was smooth, but things turned absolutely terrifying as soon as we began our descent," she wrote. "I have never in my life feared for my life like that — and my mom was with me, too."
Plane Plummets After Repeated Failures to Land
The passenger claims that the aircraft made three attempts to land, but was thwarted each time by the storm.
"We were shaken violently each time, and on the third attempt, we actually started to plummet," she wrote.
Unable to safely land at its intended destination, the plane diverted to an airport roughly 60 miles away.
Ultimately, the plane landed safely at Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport.
The Turkish Airline flight was not the only flight this month to nearly plummet out of mid-air.
A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Salt Lake City was forced to make an emergency landing on Sept. 4 after a 27,000-foot downward spiral.
The Boeing 737-900 flight departed Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) bound for Salt Lake City International Airport on Sunday, Sept. 6, when it experienced an "unexpected pressurization issue."
Moments later, chaos ensued as the plane began to descend quickly and oxygen masks were deployed from the cabinet.
A Reddit user who claimed to be a passenger on the flight recalled the scary incident as follows:
"The pressurization system failed. My ears immediately started hurting, and the oxygen masks dropped. We did a rapid descent into Las Vegas. The scariest part wasn't even the descent: it was not knowing what was going on. Flight attendants were trying to make announcements with their masks on. It was almost impossible to hear them."
The Boeing 737-900 was carrying 174 passengers and six crew members when it diverted to Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
