In September, dairy company Stonyfield will open the first-ever "organic cow spa."
For a limited time, consumers can enjoy a day at Rainbow Valley Farm in Sidney, Maine. Kristina Drociak, Stonyfield's Director of PR and Consumer Engagement, told The New York Post that the experience will allow consumers to experience their "farm-inspired care philosophy."
"The Organic Cow Spa is inspired by the idea that organic cows have the space, fresh air, sunshine and nourishment they need to thrive," Drociak said to the outlet "We're inviting guests to embrace their own version of that philosophy: slow down, unplug, spend time outdoors and enjoy a little udder relaxation."
She also adds: "It's not about literally feeling like a cow — it's about giving people a firsthand, memorable look at the care behind organic farming."
Cow Spa Has Several Amenities
For a $120 sticker price consumers will be able to enjoy activities such as cow cuddling. The website says that cuddling is a form of "animal-assisted wellness." It uses research statistics that suggest that "positive animal interactions" can "promote feelings of happiness and reduce stress."
Other amenities include the Meditation Trail. Which the website declares as a "short farm walk designed to get moving, breathe fresh air and reconnect with the outdoors."
They can also enjoy a massage with aromatherapy & a scalp massage. Where guests can enjoy their "own human version of a cow ritual." This is also inspired by the "freedom organic cows have to roam and graze.
Initial reactions drew mixed reviews on social media.
"So now cows can live better lives than myself. Cool. Thanks," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Cows have been getting the spa experience their whole lives. It's called a field," a second user also chimed in.
"It sounded like a nice place for a cow aficionado to visit," a third user remarked.
