The gala freedom 260 event kicked off this week. That is good news. However, the bad news is that many of the A-listers who were scheduled to sing jumped ship. That is allegedly because the whole shindig was too MAGA-oriented for their taste. Among the no-shows are Martina McBride, Bret Michaels, Young MG, and Morris Day and the Time. Never fear, though. An emerging country singer was tapped to be a "featured performer," per Rolling Stone. Nevertheless, the buzz is that Alexis Wilkins, 27, who is relatively little-known, got the plum gig not only because of her vocals.
She also happens to be the girlfriend of FBI Director Kash Patel, a point brought up by many of Wilkins' critics. Many of those snark-spewers came out in full force after she sang "The National Anthem" to help get things going the other day.

Furthermore, the singer noted, "People don't get to negate that for clicks or headlines. I was invited to sing this anthem on my own accord, as I have been many other places throughout my career 2. I am not accepting payment for this great honor. 3. The Freedom250 entire celebration is on a fundraising arm; neither UFC nor any National Mall celebrations are 'taxpayer funded' (you would think, as a journalist, this would be something she would know or at least look into) I'm no longer accepting false narratives and total sham accusations that diminish my hard work and earned accomplishments, so please expect this kind of response to continue."
Some Armchair Authorities Were Brutal About Wilkins
Several disenchanted people voiced their opinion of Alexis Wilkins on Reddit. And they were not kind or forgiving. In fact, they slammed her every which-way.
"I read yesterday she has less listeners than Hatebeak, a heavy metal band featuring a parrot on lead vocals...."
"...She's being shoved down everyone's throats by the MAGA apparatus. It's not good attention if you've noticed...."
"Why is she getting all this spotlight all of a sudden? She's barely a music artist at all. Only 6k monthly listeners on Spotify. There is no discography on her Wikipedia page. She's a nepo baby. The only notable thing about her is that she's dating Kash Patel."
It's a fairly sure thing that if the nastiness continues, so will Alexis Wilkins' defense of her professional credentials and her talent.
