Ken Cash, 57, spoke to Sea Coast Online to tell them his incredible story. On the morning of his daughter's wedding, Cash began to suffer chest pains. Although he said he sat down to rest, the pain persisted. His wife suggested if he wanted to do to the hospital, and he did so.

Without her suggestion, it may have been too late to save his life.

Around 9 am, Cash and his wife arrived at Portsmouth Regional Hospital's Seabrook ER. As tests were being performed on him, Cash began to suffer a heart attack. "I remember him saying, 'He's having a heart attack. Call Seabrook Fire Department," Cash told the outlet. "I don't remember much after that."

A terrifying thing to hear before you switch off.

Seabrook Fire Dispatch were called just after 9, although it wouldn't be until the next hour that Cash would be taken to the regional hospital for treatment. The available staff were fighting relentlessly to keep Cash alive for an hour.

Man Nearly Dies On Daughter's Wedding Day After Extremely Close Call

Cash slipped into cardiac arrest when he entered the ambulance.

Thankfully, despite the situation getting extremely hairy in the ambulance, the paramedics managed to get his heart beating again.

Fire Department Capt. Kevin Janvrin told the outlet the awful and intense efforts taken to keep Cash alive when he lost consciousness. Janvrin said, "By the time we arrived at the hospital, his heart was beating on its own and his pupils were equal and reactive. That's important for someone who'd been in cardiac arrest that long. It meant there's probably no brain damage."

Apparently, Cash suffered a heart attack due to an artery in his heart almost being fully closed. A stent was used to correct the issue.

Although Cash is now back on his feet thanks to the efforts of all involved, he missed his daughter's wedding. He woke up in the following evening, completely missing the big day.

I'm sure all of his family is grateful to the responders who kept him alive and well, even if his affliction was ill-timed.
