Fans Go Beserk As Morgan Wallen Snubbed By CMA Awards

The 2026 CMA nominees are out, and Morgan Wallen has a right to feel aggrieved. He hasn't been named in a single solo category.

The 2026 CMA nominees are out, and Morgan Wallen has a right to feel aggrieved. The country music superstar hasn't been named in a single solo category. That's right, everyone reading this has received as much recognition from the CMA as Wallen has for his work as a solo artist this past year: nothing.

Now, that isn't to say that Wallen's name is completely absent from the nominations. He is up for Music Event of the Year, twice, in fact. The first is for "I Can't Love You Anymore" with Ella Langley. The second is for "McArthur" with HARDY, Eric Church, and Tim McGraw.

Wallen and the CMA have a long and chequered past. Yet, even if his omission isn't all that surprising, it does seem like an injustice is being done. After all, for almost half of 2026, his "I'm The Problem" album was dominating the music charts. Not the country charts. Not some charts. All of the music charts. Wallen was everywhere.

Beyond his chart-topping success, Wallen also crushed his "I'm The Problem" tour, with the 23-date stadium run expected to gross somewhere in the region of half a billion dollars. Like him or not, you can't deny that Wallen has enjoyed a stellar 2026. That's why his omission from the solo section of the CMA nominees is such a shock.

Morgan Wallen Fans Are Not Pleased

As you would expect, Wallen's fans were far from pleased, so they quickly took to social media to share their displeasure and frustration.

"The industry hate for Morgan Wallen is really out of control," one user wrote on X upon learning of Wallen's omission from the solo nominees. "Morgan is the biggest artist in country music and there should be a point where enough is enough. Give him the nominations he deserves and get over all the rest."

Another user took aim directly at the CMA's.

"CMA's are a joke," they wrote. "No wonder their rating continues to tank every year. Morgan Wallen has probably sold more tickets, ranked higher on every chart imaginable than those nominated in each category combined. His recognition comes from his fan base."

Wallen is unlikely to lose any sleep over his omission. Nevertheless, the standoff between one of country music's best artists, and one of the premier awards shows has no end in sight, and the only loser there is the fans that show up to support and love the genre.
