According to a report by WTVA, the tornado swept through Tippah County on Wednesday, April 3. The storm was so severe that it wrecked two farms and destroyed 13 houses. Authorities have not announced any deaths, but three people were injured.

Two of those people were at home when the tornado struck. It was so powerful that it lifted their house and tossed it 80 yards with them still inside.

In an interview with WTVA, Larry Davore explains that the house belonged to his parents. His father told him that everything happened so fast it was "like a streak of lightning."

Davore rushed to help his parents after the storm uprooted the home. "They got thrown 80 feet or 80 yards. So, through all this mess," he said. "There was no walls or no structure, no nothing. This is what it was when I got here."

"The objective was to get my stepmother because she was pretty hurt," Davore said. "Anyway, I got to them, and I got them to an ambulance." Foundations are all that's left of the house, but Davore bravely explains, "This is all just structure, and we will build it back, and we'll keep on living life now that they're not in a casket, you know."

The Storms Affected Nearby Counties In The Following Days

Per CNN, the storms continued to cause widespread damage as they moved across the country. At least 60 homes were damaged across Benton, Bolivar, Marshall, Tate, and Tippah. Tennessee and Kentucky also endured a month's worth of rain in less than 24 hours.

Tornadoes are known for causing damage, but one in Alabama last month managed to pick up an entire school bus. Fortunately, nobody was in the vehicle at the time, but the twister was so powerful it managed to fling a 10-tonne bus through the roof of the Winterboro High School.

Multiple parts of the school were severely damaged, with several buildings requiring a complete rebuild. Nobody was hurt when the bus hit the school, but one storm-related fatality was reported in the area.
