In an interview with news outlet KMBC, Cherie Kidd explains that Princess Evans, 34, a mother of nine, died last month unexpectedly. She reportedly paid Savory and Sons Funeral Home $3000 for the funeral and cremation. However, Kidd alleges that even three weeks after the service, the family never received the urn of ashes. She also explained that there were mistakes with the obituary, and the establishment's owner, Frank Savory, was late to the service.

The outlet explains that Kidd and her sister allegedly went to the funeral home on Thursday. They spotted several uncovered bodies through a window from the rear parking lot, including Princess. "That is her, one hundred, one million percent her," Kidd explained. "How is he doing this and getting away with this and go home and sleep at night?" she added.

Kidd has since filed a complaint with the Missouri's Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors.

The Funeral Home Has Released A Statement On Social Media

Savory and Sons Funeral Home addressed the allegations and media attention in

a statement on Facebook. "First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to every family now experiencing renewed pain because of these reports. For more than two decades, I have operated and supported this community with love and integrity, and nothing pains me more than the thought that any family now questions that commitment."

The Funeral Home also outlines steps they are taking, including inviting the Kansas City Police to the establishment to check their records. The statement also explains that there is a "temporary pause" on new services, and any staff members named in the complaint are on administrative leave pending an investigation.

The statement concludes, "Should the investigation confirm that we fell short of our professional and moral obligations. We will make full restitution to affected families and implement all corrective actions prescribed by regulators."

According to a report by People, police referred the outlet to the Board of Embalmers & Funeral Directors when questioned. They reportedly said they weren't the investigating agency but received reports of the "business being abandoned."
