"I truly have no words. My father, Jon Dee Graham, passed away this morning,"

the tribute read. "He was loved by so many people and touched so many people with his music, his kindness, and his endless sense of humor. His music is a gift to the world that will live on forever. This morning he died after we waited outside for EMS to try to revive him, the cardinals, that he loved so much, suddenly came in droves and were chirping. Some say that means the angels are here."

A separate post on Facebook provided fans with an update on Jon's cause of death, noting how it had been a tragic accident.

"Jon Dee passed away due to a fall on Friday,"

the post explained. "His body was under a lot of strain from the surgeries. From what we have been able to deduce he was letting our dog out and fell. He died instantly from the fall according to the Medical Examiner."

The family had chosen to set the record straight over Jon's death after considerable speculation as to what led to his passing.

Jon Dee Graham Carved Out a Memorable Career in Texas

Jon's music always had a touch of Texas grit and soul. He became renowned throughout the state, being inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame on three occasions. Each induction was for different reasons. Once for his role with The Skunks, another for contributing to True Believers and once for his work as a solo artist.

According to Spotify, Jon's solo music is still streamed over 8,500 times per month. "Things Might Turn Out Right" is his most popular song on the platform. Of course, once you factor in other music streaming platforms, Jon's overall streaming numbers will be considerably higher.

"Big Sweet Life" is also one of Jon's more popular solo works, at least on Spotify. The song has over 173,000 streams, which is no easy feat.

Despite Jon's popularity, especially within Texas, there are no details regarding his upcoming funeral. That information will likely remain private, specifically for family, loved ones and close friends. RIP.
