Faith Hill's father, Wesley 'Ted' Perry, has passed away at the age of 88.
According to an obituary published in the Clarion-Ledger, Perry died on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin, Tenn.
Perry was born on July 3, 1930. He was a member of the Star Baptist Church in Star, Mississippi and enjoyed gardening and playing dominoes. Perry and his wife Edna adopted Hill, whose real name is Audrey Faith Perry, when she was a baby. Edna passed away in 2016 at the age of 80.
Perry also has two sons, Hill's brothers Wesley and Steve.
Tim McGraw shared the news on Facebook and wrote about the impact Perry had on him and his entire family.
"He was the sweetest, kindest most gentle man I've ever known," McGraw wrote on Facebook. "No man in my life has ever made such an impact on me as to how to be a human, a father and a friend. I'll never, in 10 lifetimes, be able to live up to his example, but man, he has set a mark that all of us should strive for. His legacy will live on through the 3 beautiful souls he raised, Faith and her brothers, Steve and Wesley."
