David Nail is celebrating the release of his long-awaited fourth studio album, Fighter. In an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, the country star reveals the challenges behind cutting a distinctly Chris Stapleton track.

Co-written by Stapleton, Lee Thomas Miller and Jesse Frasure, “Ease Your Pain” is a rollicking and romantic track that posed a bit of a challenge for Nail.

Thanks to Nail’s powerful vocals and wise production choices, the track sounds right at home on the carefully crafted album. Fighter features seven tracks that were written or co-written by Nail, as well as collaborations with Vince Gill, Brothers Osborne, Lori McKenna and Logan Brill.

The record is the result of a period of personal ups and downs for Nail. In December 2015, he became a father to twins with wife Katherine after years of fertility struggles. Now, the 37-year-old singer-songwriter says he’s already focused on creating the next chapter of his career.

“I feel like I’ve told the main aspects of my career, and my life, up to this point,” Nail said in a statement. “So I really think whatever we do in the future, we’ll be able to start just completely fresh. It’ll be a new story, a new part of my life.”

Fighter is available now on iTunes.
