Ex-UFC Star Claims Imposters Murdered And Replaced His Family

B.J. Penn, ex-UFC fighter and Hall of Famer, has been making a series of posts that claim his family was murdered and replaced by imposters, and he examines why.

The ex-fighter's online spaces have always been a little... erratic, per se. But this is another level that has made his fans very concerned for him. In a few online posts, B.J. Penn has expressed his belief that imposters have replaced his family, and that they're after his assets.

In his most recent post relating to these claims, he wrote, "Hilo Police Department I need your help. My mother Lorraine Shin, my brother Jay Dee Penn, my brother, Reagan penn and my brother Kalani Mamazuka we're all murdered and I need you to investigate these guys get these people out of my house and my off my properties."

The video itself provides recent photos of his mother and one of his brothers. He zooms in and points out 'discrepancies' he believes point toward makeup and special effects. At the end of the video, he urges the police to step in, "Helios Police Department, what are you gonna do? Let's get these guys. Let's get these guys."

Upon inspection, there is nothing unnatural about the photos he provided. He points out that his brother has freckles in his ears, but claims none of his family has ever held this feature.

Alarming Posts Are Scaring Fans

Between this, the video examining his other brother, and the X post last month about his mother, fans of the retired fighter are very concerned.

What he is expressing leads some, including myself, to believe he may be suffering from Capgras Syndrome. Per the NIH, this is a "delusional misidentification syndrome" that has sufferers believing that someone important to them has been replaced by imposters.

This appears to be a pretty extreme case, however, and I'm no doctor.

Fans take to his posts to express their worry for the fighter. "I know he's retired, but can anyone from the UFC please reach out and do something. I feel like this should be handled better," wrote one. And I agree.

"Someone needs to intervene before things escalate," someone else commented.

I only hope B.J. Penn can get the help he needs very soon.
