Terrell Owens Facing Defamation Suit Over Nolan Wells Comments

On September 26th, Owens reposted an Instagram reel from the Trent Out Loud show that called for the arrests of Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour. After it was revealed that the three boys allegedly deleted things off of the late teen's cellphone. In addition to reposting the reel, Owens also echoed the same sentiment of the video.

"ARREST THEM IMMEDIATELY!! LIKE YESTERDAY!!" the former Cowboys star wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

So in response to the post, Hudson, Pitalo, and Seymour have now brought a defamation lawsuit against the former NFL standout. This is according to a Tuesday (October 6) report from The Guardian.

In a copy of the lawsuit obtained by the outlet, the attorneys for the boys said that Owens conduct has led to them being subject to harassment and other unfair treatment. And as a result, their lives will "never be the same."

"Due to the conduct of Owens and many other less-famous individuals, these completely innocent young men have been subjected to thousands of death threats, face-to-face harassment, and daily fear and ridicule from strangers," part of the filing reads. "They've even been refused service at public establishments. Their lives, and the lives of their family members, will never be the same."

Wells' body was found off the coast of Mississippi following a Fourth of July weekend boat trip that he had taken with the other three teens. After weeks of public outcry, the jury declined to file criminal charges against the three teens. It was determined that Wells' manner of death was "consistent with a drowning."

At the time of writing, Owens has not responded to the defamation suit. The social media post also remains.
