The former NFL quarterback shared that his brother-in-law, Federico Lascano, died suddenly over the weekend. He is survived by Orlovsky's sister and their three sons — Brayden, 18, Cameron, 16, and Colton 11.

"There are no words to describe the heartbreak of losing a husband, a partner, and a father so suddenly," he wrote on X. "In the midst of trying to process this devastating loss, my sister is now facing the overwhelming reality of navigating life as a solo parent and a single-income household. All while helping her boys cope with the loss of their dad."

Orlovsky also shared a GoFundMe link for his sister and his family.

"No family should have to face this kind of heartbreak. No one should have to worry about how they will manage financially while trying to put the pieces of their lives back together," he wrote.

"Thank you for showing up for my sister and my nephews when they need it most. Our family is heartbroken, but we are so grateful for the love and support surrounding them during this unimaginable time."

ESPN Analyst Shares GoFundMe For Needy Family

As of this writing, the GoFundMe has raised over $142,000 towards its $200,000 goal.

Donations will be used for covering everyday living expenses, bills, and groceries while the family takes the necessary time to grieve and process this immense loss, according to the fundraiser.

"Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease some of the financial burden. And allow them the time and space they need to grieve, heal, and begin navigating this new reality," Orlovsky wrote. "If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping our family in your thoughts means more than you know."

A cause of death for Lascano has not yet been revealed.

Orlovsky was drafted in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. The former UConn standout played 12 seasons and was primarily a backup quarterback.

Orlovsky joined ESPN as an NFL analyst in 2018, appearing on "NFL Live", "Get Up" and "First Take" among others.
