Employee Allegedly Stabs Boss In The Middle Of A Meeting

In the middle of a meeting that could have almost definitely been an email, an employee allegedly stabs his boss. We've all thought about it though, right?

The president of Muskegon-based Anderson Express Inc. was in the middle of a meeting when, Nathan Mahoney, 32, stabbed him in the side. The meeting was taking part in the firm's office when the attack happened.

According to reports, Mahoney walks into the meeting and stabs his boss in the side, before fleeing. He was apprehended only 15 minutes later while trying to escape the scene in his car. He was later taken into custody and charged with intent to murder and fleeing police.

Despite stabbing his boss, he didn't succeed in actually killing him. Erik Denslow, president of Anderson Express Inc, was rushed to hospital. Here, he underwent surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. The act left the business in shock, with a spokesperson saying, "We remain in shock over the incident that happened at our plant yesterday. Our first thought is with our president, who has a good prognosis for a full and speedy recovery. We are also focused on supporting our employees as they process this senseless assault."

Unclear Motive To Boss Stabbing

At the present moment, it is unclear as to why Mahoney decided that stabbing his boss in an attempted murder was a good idea. Some people are relating it to the assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO, but I fail to see much correlation.

The murder of the insurance CEO was a clear attack against a widely regarded villain, responsible for many people's deaths and daily pain. However, Anderson Express Inc. is a vehicle company, specializing in the machining of parts. They're hardly the evil, bad guys, of the health insurance sector. I struggle to see this as a copycat incident.

Trial Attorney Matt Roberts has spoken out about the possible motivation for Mahoney's stabbing of his boss. "We're not speculating on any motive in this case," Mr Roberts said, adding, "But despite whatever redresses you might have against any individual, you cannot act violently against that person under any circumstances."

As it stands, Mahoney is being held on a $500,000 bond and a $1,000 bond for the charges. He could face life imprisonment if found guilty of the charges.
