Grammy winners Eminem and Dolly Parton never crossed paths during their stint in Hollywood.

While Eminem was blazing his trail in hip-hop, Parton was topping the Country music charts.
Despite never formally meeting, Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III, revealed that Parton wrote him a heartfelt letter to commemorate his Rock Hall of Fame induction in November 2022.
"Marshall (Eminem), Congratulations on your induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Your performance was amazing and everybody said so," she began.
"Even though I don't know a lot about rap music, I've come to know that you are the very best at it," the country star continued. "Aside from that, I hope what I have to say will not seem weird or strange to you, but I have always felt some unexplained connection to you, like I know you somehow."
"I had hoped to meet you at the show but you know how nuts those things are. Personally, I hate 'em. I missed my chance, but maybe someday we'll meet," she wrote.

Parton concluded the letter by encouraging Eminem to remain true to who he is.
"In the meantime, keep doing what you're doing because you do it so well and no matter how complex your world may be just know you are very special and touch people in ways you don't even know. With love & respect, Dolly Parton."
Throughout her storied career, Parton established friendships with a variety of celebrities.
Still, given their differing personalities, it feels funny that the late Country icon hoped for a deeper connection with Eminem.
Eminem has been a self-proclaimed public relations nightmare most of his career.
Alternatively, Parton maintained a near-spotless reputation.
Still, both achieved immense success in the music business.
Eminem is the first (and only) rapper with two RIAA-certified Diamond hip-hop albums. The Michigan native is a 15-time Grammy winner.
Parton is one of Country music's most iconic hitmakers.
She was voted the Country Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year in both 1975 and 1976.
In 1999, Parton was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
The "Jolene" singer died of cancer on Monday. She was 80.
