Many stars have something about their looks that instantly identifies them. For Willie Nelson, it's his long braids. For the late Dolly Parton, colorful sparkly outfits were her usual fashion statement. And for Ella Langley, it's her thick, dark bangs. Without them, she just would not be the same Ella.

You might assume that she had a conversation with her stylist that led to the creation of the face-framing locks. Well, it did not quite happen that way. In fact, the real story of how Ella Langley got those lush bangs is worthy of a country song.
Langley Liked Having Some Hair Accentuating Her Face
The Choosin' Texas singer told Theo Von when she visited his podcast This Past Weekend how the bangs came to be. Turns out that in the past, the star typically donned a cowboy hat. After removing the headgear following a concert on a windy day, she was happy with the windblown look around her face. She said to Theo Von, "I decided, 'You know what, I'm gonna take it off.' And I liked how my bangs were kind of around my face."
She Quickly Started Snipping Away
Just 20 minutes prior to a show, Ella Langley grabbed some scissors and began cutting her own hair. The result of her impromptu styling was not too flattering. "It was so bad," she admits. Her timing was off too. Langley was prepping to do a photo shoot for her debut LP soon. Langley's creative director was so much in a snit about Langley's temporarily hopeless hairdo that she allegedly said, "Hate you."
Langley Made the Best of It
Instead of panicking, though, Ella Langley all-out went for it. She instructed her team to "full send it with the bangs." Thus her famous coif was launched. It's hard to envision her without it now.
She's Got the Right Instincts
The singer knows what works best for her, whether it's her music or appearance. The song that really made her career sizzle, "You Look Like You Love Me," did not at first find favor with her label. Some skeptics though it would fall flat. Nevertheless, Langley hung in there with it. "I didn't know what it was going to do, but I believed that it was different."
She was right. Her duet with Riley Green was a huge smash.
