A teacher from South Jersey allegedly had a child with a student she sexually assaulted over multiple years.

Laura Caron, 34, an Elementary School teacher in South Jersey, was arrested on Wednesday. Police are charging her with endangering the welfare of a child, sexual assault, and aggravated sexual assault.
According to 6ABC, the alleged crimes occurred between 2016 and 2020 at Caron's home in Cape May Court House.
According to an eyewitness report from a neighbor, the arrest was discreet. "If it's true, I feel sorry for the people," she said.
The report by 6ABC reveals that court documents describe the relationship between Caron and the victim's family. Caron and the boy's parents forged a friendship over several years. Ultimately, the parents allowed their two sons and daughter to stay at Caron's occasionally. The visits started with a couple of nights a week. Court documents explain that the children lived with Caron permanently from 2016 to 2020.
Per the report, the boy's sister alleges that he had shared a bed with Caron from as young as 11. The sister also explains that they would all sleep in a shared bedroom on a separate floor. However, the victim would be in Caron's bed the following morning. She also alleges that Caron would join the victim in the shower, locking the door behind her.
The Incident With The Teacher Was Revealed With A Social Media Post
Bizarrely, the situation was only brought to light when the boy's father posted on social media. According to investigators, he pointed out that Caron's child bore a striking resemblance to himself and his son.
The 6ABC report reveals that the victim was in contact with the teacher until his father made the social media post. He also confirmed to authorities that the child was his and he had a sexual relationship with Caron.
According to the New York Post, police are holding Laura Caron at Cape May County Correctional Facility without bond until a court appearance. The outlet also reveals that the Middle Township School District has placed Caron on paid leave and is cooperating with police and the investigation.
