Witch hunting is always a bad idea.

Both Swifties and Chiefs fans took their obsession over their chosen deities' relationship way too far after the Super Bowl game by attacking the business of an Eagles player's mom.
After the whooping the Chiefs received at Super Bowl LIX, C.J. Gardner-Johnson took to the socials to gloat. On his Instagram story, he posted a picture of himself and Kelce facing off on the field. Above the image were the words, "Should've Stayed w that thick s****."
Apparently, this message was in relation to Kelce's previous girlfriend. Johnson was implying he should have stayed with her, rather than with Taylor Swift. This, obviously, didn't go down too well with Cheifs fans or Swift devotees.
Rather than rage and spit amongst each other, they sought out Johnson's mother's food place. As an act of revenge, they decided to review bomb the King's Grill restaurant, located in Cocoa, FL. Negative comments poured in from users, prompting Yelp to close down submissions pending review.
The Jokes On Them, Johnson's Mom Moved On
But, after all the effort that went into trying to run the mom of the Eagles Player's business into the ground was for naught. In an interview with TMZ, she revealed that she doesn't own Kings Grill anymore. She already has another business up and running, and Kings Grill is up for sale.
So, despite the hateful and small-minded way the Swifties and Chiefs fans responded to some sports banter, they failed. I wonder how they would have felt if they had managed to put a hard-working mother out of a business. Would that have felt justified?
C.J. Gardner-Johnson is known for his trash-talking. It's a big part of the game and always has been. Getting into the mind of your opponent is a valid tactic. Throwing their concentration can sometimes ruin a whole play.
But, once the game is over, and the dust has settled, it's finished. Sure, he didn't need to go on Instagram and rub it in. But Kelce, being a football player, will be no stranger to the ribbing that comes with football. Like any sportsman, he knows the banter is between the players, and goes no further.
To attack C.J. Johnson's mom's livelihood is dirty behavior. They should be ashamed.
