See Glenn Frey's Son Perform 'Take It Easy' With the Eagles

Glenn Frey's son Deacon faced the challenge of filling his father's shoes and gave an incredible performance of "Take It Easy" alongside the remaining Eagles members.

Over the weekend, the Eagles gathered together to give their first full concert performance since losing Glenn. According to Pastemultiple guests took turns performing Glenn's vocal lines during the show, but it was Deacon Frey's time in the spotlight that stole the show.

Watching Frey step into his father's place, taking on lead vocals and guitar, makes you want to grin and tear up simultaneously. His takes on "Peaceful Easy Feeling" and "Hotel California" were spot on, but his rendition of "Take it Easy" was especially heartwarming.

Frey seemed genuinely humbled by the warm reception. The crowd welcomed him with open arms.

"These last couple of years have been pretty tough," Frey told the crowd, according to Paste. "And really the only remedy for something like that is love. You guys are my medicine tonight."

Frey fit in well with the group and proved he had his own bucket of talent to pull from.

The band announced Frey's new role with Eagles a few months ago. "He's enthusiastic about it and he's been working real hard on it, and he's gonna do it with us. I think that's appropriate," Don Henley said at that time.

That hard work was apparent. Frey stood his own and (most likely) made his father extremely proud.
