Who knew that Scarlett Johansson could carry a country tune? The Avengers star proved her country chops alongside Craig Campbell on a USO tour stop in Afghanistan. Talk about a surprise pairing!
Performing as part of Campbell's "Woman Cover Wednesday," Johansson helped the country star do a country-fied version of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Were Made for Walkin'." Campbell didn't necessarily know all the words, so Johannson ended up taking the lead on most of the song.
The duet was entertaining to say the least, as the two looked like they had rehearsed maybe once or twice. Campbell opened the song with an acoustic guitar drop in, only to remember he'd forgotten how the song stars.
Luckily for Campbell, he had Johannson by his side to bring on the first verse, and on they went.
Johannson is no stranger to music, as she released an album with singer/songwriter Pete Yorn in 2009, called Break Up. This duet marks the first time Johannson has ever dabbled with anything country leaning, but she can pull it off.
Who knows if Johansson is planning on making any new music in the future, but maybe a country album is coming? Either way, its nice to see Johannson and Campbell make a little music to for a good cause.
