Phil Robertson is struggling with many health issues, according to his son, Willie Robertson. It was reported that Robertson was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's disease. However, it was also mentioned that the Robertson patriarch was also suffering from a yet unnamed blood disorder. It is that disorder that is now causing more issues to Robertson's health, which seems to be declining.

Willie Robertson spoke with Fox News Digital and clarified specific details about his father's health status. "He's got a blood disorder, and then he's got the mental issues that could be early [on-set] Alzheimer's ... and probably some ministrokes because of his blood," he told the outlet. Willie Robertson didn't specify what blood disorder his father was suffering from, but he stated that he was producing "too much blood."
"And so, it could be some stroke stuff happening, that has happened. So, we're still checking on all that." Willie also spoke about a back injury Robertson sustained. It is just one of the "many different things" Phil Robertson is currently battling. The back in particular, according to Willie, is becoming problematic, as Phil is unable to sit or lie down without it being painful. Overall, day-to-day stuff is becoming hard, given Robertson's health issues.
Dealing With Disease
Willie Robertson then talked about the many things they have been trying with his father. He mentions trying different medications and attempting to fix Robertson's back. "We're trying several different things," Willie said. "We've seen many doctors and [are] just getting the best care we can and best things that we can and trying to figure out what's next."
Willie said, however, that dealing with the blood disorder and his father's back issues is especially hard given his Alzheimer's diagnosis. "It's hard with the mental stuff," Willie said. "It's hard to determine exactly what these causes are, especially with early signs, it's hard to determine brain damage from stroke or is that Alzheimer's." According to Willie, Alzheimer's runs in the family, affecting Phil Robertson's siblings.
Nevertheless, Phil Robertson still tries to fight back his health issues. Willie cooks the food he loves eating and Robertson's family seems to be supportive, which can be very important for people dealing with multiple health issues.
