There was a wild scene in Florida on Sunday, August 30, when an alleged drunk driver hit a parked car, then allegedly got into a slug-fest with its owner. The Daytona Beach Police Department posted about the incident on
Facebook several days ago. They wrote, "ARRESTED: Elizabeth Boucher, 24, of Daytona Beach. Boucher faces charges including DUI, possession of a controlled substance, resisting an officer, and DUI-related damage. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty."Videos by Wide Open Country
It Seems Like an Allegedly Bizarre Scene
But it's the video the police also posted that truly is an eye-popper. The situation was caught on home video, per the New York Post. Boucher's Ford Bronco comes hurtling along and smashes right into someone's parked Honda. The momentum of Boucher's vehicle is so great that it sends the other vehicle "across the front lawn," per the Post. The wheels of her vehicle grinding on the lawn send plumes of dirt spraying through the air. All this is while Elizabeth Boucher's Bronco is actually pushing the other vehicle along in front of it.
Per Law & Crime, Boucher's alleged behavior at the time was concerning. Dispatchers allegedly said she was "knocking on doors" in the neighborhood and also tried to leave the scene of the crash. Police reportedly noticed signs of her intoxication such as "difficulty standing" and an odor of alcohol.
What Allegedly Took Place Next
Mercifully, no one was in the Honda when Elizabeth Boucher's Bronco allegedly bashed it. Its owner was located by police. When that person allegedly prevented Elizabeth Boucher from leaving, a dispute erupted.
Per Law & Crime, "According to the [arrest] affidavit, Boucher got out of her Bronco and allegedly 'struck' the woman on the side of the face with a closed fist." The woman then allegedly punched Boucher, who fell. She then got to her feet, allegedly attempted to hit the woman again, and "was shoved back down by the woman."
Boucher allegedly resisted arrest, didn't have a breath test, and wouldn't talk to police. However, in body camera video, per the outlet, she does say, "I thought we were all friends."
Elizabeth Boucher was reportedly let out of jail. She is due in court on Wednesday, October 21, according to Law & Crime.
