Adam Ramey, the lead vocalist for the trap metal band Dropout Kings, took his own life, days before his 32nd birthday, after a "long and painful battle with addiction."

Aged 31, Adam Ramey was confirmed to have died by suicide on May 19 by his family via a GoFundMe page set up to cover funeral expenses.
The singer was married to Jamie Ramey, 29. Their son, Jude, is 18 months old.
Exact details of Ramey's death have not been publicly announced by his family, likely to preserve privacy in this extremely challenging time.
Adam Ramey's band, the Dropout Kings, was formed in 2016 in Phoenix. They have been prolifically releasing music since 2018, amassing millions of listens. Their 2021 album GlitchGang proved to be incredibly popular, although their single "Unholy" is their most popular song.

Both his bandmates and his family have expressed their mourning online.
In the GoFundMe, set up by Adam's wife's sister, Jamie Varney, sheds light on the impact he had in life.
Although his "long and painful battle with addiction" is mentioned in relation to his suicide, the nature of his addiction has been left vague.
"Adam wasn't just my brother-in-law," she started, "He was like a real brother to me. He saved my life during one of my darkest times and always showed up for the people he loved. He brought life and energy to every room, every family gathering, and every stage he stepped on. Watching him perform—especially at local shows in Phoenix or when he came to Tampa—was unforgettable," his sister-in-law said.
"Adam loved deeply. He was a devoted husband to my 29-year-old sister, Jamie, and a proud father to their 18-month-old son, Jude. He was also an incredible uncle, friend, and human being."
Speaking of his wife and son, Varney wrote, "Now Jamie [Ramey] is left grieving the love of her life while raising their baby boy alone. She's facing not only unimaginable heartbreak but also the financial weight of funeral expenses and legal costs."
Thus far, the GoFundMe has raised almost $45,000 of the $60,000 goal.
On social media, fans and singers have mourned the loss of the singer.
"I love you so much, bro. I'll forever cherish the memories I have with you. Spending those 4 years on the road were the best times of my life and you're my brother forever. This one truly sucks," wrote a drummer for the band.
"So sad. Hope you boys find peace and healing," wrote Hardy.
"Glitch Gang forever. Rest easy Best Screamer in Rap," another commented.
