The incident occurred in Panama City on Highway 231, per a report by WJHG. Dispatchers reportedly received multiple calls about a shooting at the intersection by Harrison Avenue. Police allegedly caught the suspect trying to flee the area in a Dodge Ram pickup truck. The report explains that police found two people with gunshot wounds at the scene. Emergency Services took both to a hospital nearby, but one died shortly after arriving. Police have identified the victims as Georgeann Garner, 48, and her daughter, Marileigh Lewis, 19.

A Bystander Caught The Road Rage Incident On Camera

Another driver on the road nearby captured the incident on their phone camera. While the events that led to the altercation are unclear, the footage shows two people talking next to a red SUV on the highway with a pickup truck behind it. The SUV has both its right-side doors open. One person gets into the passenger seat while the pickup truck driver appears to shout something at the SUV driver. The SUV driver gets inside the car and closes the door.

The moment they do, the pickup truck quickly pulls around to the left of the SUV and drives alongside it. You can hear 11 shots fired, presumably by the pickup driver. The pickup truck takes a sharp left at the intersection and speeds away, leaving the SUV by the lights.

According to the New York Post, both people injured with gunfire were in the SUV. The outlet explains that police managed to catch the pickup truck after a brief chase. Authorities have named the occupants as Jubal Simmons and Ivybella Encino.

Per a press release by the

Panama City Police Department, Encino, who was driving the vehicle, rammed a PCPD patrol unit. The report alleges that the incident escalated over a 'traffic dispute.'

Authorities have charged both occupants of the pickup truck with a string of offenses. Simmons's charges include murder, three counts of attempted murder, discharging a firearm from a vehicle, and tampering with evidence. Encino faces an accessory to murder charge, aggravated battery of a law enforcement officer, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
