After the tragic passing of Wenne Alton Davis in a car crash last year, a driver has been charged.
As reported by TMZ, the driver has been charged with a misdemeanor. The charge is "failure to yield to a pedestrian." MD Abdul Shomuz was booked on Monday, March 16.
The Marvelous Ms. Maisel actor died after a car collided with her. This came as she was crossing a road in Broadway in December. Shomuz had taken a left and not seen her before hitting her.
And tragically, whilst she was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, she later died of her injuries. She had suffered severe head trauma.
The actor played a police officer opposite Rachel Brosnahan in an episode of Marvelous Ms. Maisel in 2023. Davis was also known for starring in episodes of Blindspot and New Amsterdam, as well as Girls5Eva.
According to the Independent, Davis' agent Jamie Harris said that she had moved to New York to pursue stand-up comedy. She had previously worked as a security guard at John F. Kennedy International Airport. He said in a statement that she had "a huge love for New York, for acting, for her colleagues at JFK, and, most of all, her family and her circle of friends, which was also huge."
