Dollywood Surpasses Disneyland on Tripadvisor's Travelers' Choice List

In the latest development in Dolly Parton's real-life fairytale, her hometown theme park Dollywood passed Disneyland on Travelers' Choice Best of the Best Awards.

Parton's Pigeon Forge theme park ranks sixth in the United States and eighth in the world, per findings by Tripadvisor.

"To be included in the top 10 with the most iconic parks in the industry illustrates our strong commitment to delivering the absolute best guest experience," said Craig Ross, The Dollywood Company president, in a statement. "On behalf of Dolly and all of our hosts, we are thankful to be named in the company of these amazing parks. This truly is a great honor."

Dollywood is the highest ranked American amusement park that's not owned by Disney or Universal. The Great Smoky Mountains destination and Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri are the only selections from outside of Orlando, Florida and Southern California.
